Festival of Lights, Festival of Life

Chanukah has always meant more to me than just being about presents, candles, or dreidel. It is about pushing the darker elements of life out of our existence. This might sound existential or random, but take a look at the quotes below and I think you might agree. So when you light the menorah tonight, spin the dreidel, or open your gifts think about what else you will celebrate tonight.

“Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.” – Anne Frank

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” Edith Wharton
