Berlin Moments

“Du bist verrückt mein Kind, du mußt nach Berlin.” (“You are crazy, my child. You must go to Berlin.”) – Franz von Suppe, composer, 1800.

Franz con Suppe was an Austrian composer of operas. He wrote the Light Cavalry Overture and many of the works. His overtures have appeared in many cartoons and children’s entertainment.

However, in my mind, he is the author of a quote that has lived beyond his pieces. “You are crazy, my child. You must go to Berlin.” This blog is dedicated to all the arts, the artists, the creatives, the innovators, and the outliers.

Just as the Village People and Pet Shop Boys told their legions to “go west.” Suppe told the creatives, the unrestricted to go to Berlin.

To the San Francisco of Europe, I am heading to Berlin soon.
