Valentine’s Day 2015 – As Time Goes By

Valentine’s Day remains one of my favorite holidays regardless of whether I am single or dating someone. It remains for me an annual reminder to be grateful for love in our lives.

And so I find myself Valentine’s Day morning working on my Oscar List and watching one of my favorite movies – Casablanca. Call me a hopeless romantic.

The film reminds me of my favorite Valentine’s Day – February 2001. I was living in Paris studying at the Sourbonne Nouvelle. My boyfriend was away in Rome and one of my friends had her boyfriend away in New York. So she and I spent an evening in my apartment drinking good wine, eating chocolate and watching classic films.

Friendship is as powerful a love as romantic love.

So for everyone celebrating this holiday whether it be with someone special, with friends or alone… enjoy Valentine’s Day for all it represents.
