Christmas at Starbucks

I have two Christmas traditions. On Christmas Eve, my roommate throws a small party at my loft. We usually end up watching “Home Alone”, “Scrooged”, and some random movie – this year “Best in Show.” Max and Zoe watch the guests and hope for table scraps.

My second tradition is on Christmas Day walking down to the local Starbucks. My dog and I hang out with the regulars and embrace the spirit. This year, people were dancing and sharing coffee with strangers.

There is something about this tradition I find incredibly relaxing and warm. I love the coffee house and the act of getting to know strangers over a cappuccino.

Starbucks is the orphanage for us Christmas orphans. And every year it welcomes us.
