World Cup Day 13: Christ the Redeemer

The adventures are coming to an end. But what a wonderful way to end.

Our ragtag group of misfits took the tram up the the Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking Rio. It is the most iconic image of Brazil. The Christ the Redeemer statue, perched atop Rio de Janiero, looking down with his arms spread wide.

Fog moved in when we got to the top. The statue kept on being obscured making a wonderful visual effect.

Once at the top I spent 10 minutes inside the statue in the church. Given how many people were crowded at the top I was shocked how peaceful and quiet the chapel at the top was.

Alright time to say goodbye to Brazil. Keep It Real Rio.
