World Cup Day 10: Travel Boldly
My new favorite hashtag is #TravelBoldly. It reminds me of my teenage years and backpacking across Asia, Europe, and Central America. I read the conversations using #TravelBoldly and I am inspired to do more, see more, and experience more.
Today, we toured the streets of the Old Colony in El Centro, visited an antique fair, and watched the Netherlands vs. Mexico game. My group and I cheered on Mexico except this time Mexico lost. The match was as exciting as the Croatia vs. Mexico game.
We wrapped up today by taking in the views from Sugarloaf Mountain overlooking Rio. The name Sugarloaf was given in the 16th century by the Portuguese during the sugar cane trade. The name comes from the shape of the mountain resembling the shape of a concentrated refined loaf of sugar.
Tomorrow on to Christ the Redeemer.
